Here we have a very nice officer's private purchase rifled flintlock pistol, all brass mounted with a lovely octagonal brass barrel. It is marked PHILLIPS on the lock plate, and LONDON on the top of the barrel, a known maker of private purchase pistols during the Napoleonic era. We have seen a nearly identical pistol from this maker, except the barrel is round, and not octagonal. It also shares the early design
